René Halkett/David Jay(Bauhaus) Nothing/Armour 7” AD112 1981 *rare* with Lyrics Insert

This took me AGES to track down as most copies I ever found in mid-eighties didn’t have the lyrics/biog insert.

Sleeve is only good, because of slight ring wear to rear, and wear to leading edge of sleeve, more obvious because sleeve is black. Vinyl is mint, played once or twice. Checked it and it is lovely condition indeed.

Poems are by René Halkett, painter, writer, lecturer, BBC broadcaster, who joined in 1923 the Stagecraft Workshop of the original Staaliches Bauhaus Weimar, from where Bauhaus took their name. Words recorded on tape player at Halkett’s house in Cornwall in 1980, music by David Jay of Bauhaus.

4AD website says “René Halkett (1900-1983) was member of the original 'Staatliches Bauhaus Weimar', and David Jay a solo artist and also a member of both Bauhaus and Love & Rockets.

Together they released a 7" called 'Nothing' on 4AD. The words are Halkett's, recorded on a portable cassette recorder in his Cornish cottage on the 28th of July 1980. Jay later completed the record by recording the music at Beck Studio in Wellingborough on the 18th of April 1981.”

A complete oddity!

Sleeve is card, no paper inner sleeve.

Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class or MyHermes.

From my 4AD once complete record collection 1980 to late 1999.

Slowly selling it off. Any questions please ask.

Will be posted in proper 7” record mailer.
