* What does "AUDIOPHILE" mean? *
The term "Audiophile" now means that the vinyl pressing of this record is on PURE VINYL. Most vinyl pressings before 1990 had other ingredients and impurities added to cut costs. Pure vinyl has none. They are easy to spot since they appear to be translucent when held up to a bright light. Pure vinyl pressings should have virtually NO surface noise and wear out MUCH slower than regular pressings. No surface noise and a longer life span are definitely a plus. Starting in the mid-80's to the early 90's 'some' record labels began pressing 'some' radio promos on pure vinyl so that they would have to be replaced less often, thus saving money. They are not 'all' that common, but an 'audiophile' pressing over a 'regular' pressing is most assuredly a really good thing! You WILL hear the difference!

"This Ain't No Outerspace Ship"
(Big time 6015) Original 1986 Limited run LP pressed on pure vinyl for radio play
(see photos for track listing)
Visual grading of disc: Side one: Near Mint / Side two: Mint Minus
(Never played. Pressed on pure vinyl for this promo for noise-free play.
Disc is translucent when held up to a bright light)
Condition of sleeve: RCA would occasionally do a separate limited run of audiophile pure vinyl pressings of certain titles for radio
stations. Although this copy does not have a standard 'promo' configuration (except for a promo notch at
top left corner) this indeed is a first press promo exclusively for radio play. Still in shrink - the shrink seam
in on the backside at center horizontally. It started to separate, so it's loose in bottom left corner on the
back and in the same area on the front. Includes insert with photos and credits shown in photo #3.

Continuing with the liquidation of my music collection passing them on to people who can more appreciate them.
These are items from my collection of nearly 40,000 promo 45s, LP's & CD's from the 60's thru the 00's that I was
fortunate to acquire from doing 37 years of on-air Rock Radio.
All of my records are guaranteed original pressings unless otherwise noted.
These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades.
Most were stored carefully, some were not. All of my gradings are visual and more often than not, quite generous.
Just check my feedback. You can bid and buy with confidence.
