RUSH PERMANENT WAVES Original 1980 LP *RARE* TRUMAN SLEEVE AND ERROR LABEL.
The newspaper that appears on the album cover is the Chicago Daily Tribune edition from 1948 which incorrectly reported the result of the US Presidential Election as 'Dewey Defeats Truman' (spelt 'Dewei' on the cover). The Tribune refused permission to use the edition hence the rapid withdrawal of this sleeve and subsequent reissue with the blanked newspaper edition.
Also missing from later pressings were the names of 'Lee' and 'Peart' from the advertisng billboards above the buildings on the right hand side of the sleeve. For some reason only the name of 'Lifeson' remains on later editions.
Also unique to this very 1st press was the mis credit on the label notes"Lyrics by Neil Peart except 'Between Us' by Geddy Lee". This credit should have referenced track 2 Different Strings' and was correctly printed on later pressings.
Vinyl is near mint, plays beautifully. (I'm happy to send extra photos, if messaged)
Labels are near perfect, only 2 or 3 spindle marks.
Outer cover is in excellent++, with only minor edge and corner wear. The open edge fantastic.
The inner lyric sleeve has some yellow staining, but is fully intact, it also has a generic inner sleeve.
