(..THE YANKEE DOLLAR...) by ( THE YANKEE DOLLAR )...... ....( a fan says: I have seen a lot of bad reviews and ratings on some other sites (apart from this one) about this record, mostly coming from hipsterish snobs that loves crappy alt-rock, noise rock or art rock, confirming that they don't even stand true 60's psychedelia and so, they bash this, even if they present themselves as "psych fans", but what they like really is just music that is replete of studio trickery, noisy, incongruous long jams, farty/mushy distortion/feedback and incoherent synths. Fantastic folk-rock driven psychedelic pop with female vocals that sounds influenced by Grace Slick, the original compositions are extraordinary as If in Swimming, Follow Your Dream's Way, Live and Let Live (NOT related to Love), Winter Boy and Johann Sebastian Cheetah, and the covers and songs that they didn't wrote are also awesome, especially the acidic City Sidewalks, and yes, even if some people wants to send me to gulag, the Dylan cover totally beats the original by far and it is maybe the best interpretation of it that i've ever heard. This is a Reissue.
