MOISHECHAZZER'S MUSIC LP GRADING:
LP grading can be more than a little subjective. While I do not play
most of my listings, I do examine them carefully under the proper "point
source" light. I make every effort to grade based on whether or not I
would want the album in my own collection. Consequently, I deal
primarily in Sealed, Mint, and Near Mint pieces. In the rare case where I
list an album in lesser condition, I give a detailed description of the
piece rather than a grade.
MINT: Clean, shiny vinyl with no visible marks
NEAR MINT: Clean, shiny vinyl with possible sleeve marks or light scuffs - nothing visible that should be audible.
PLEASE KEEP IN
MIND THAT WHEN VINYL WAS THE STANDARD, 20 TO 30% OF ALBUMS CAME OUT OF
THE SHRINKWRAP AS BAD PRESSINGS WITH SURFACE NOISE. OBVIOUSLY, SUCH BAD
PRESSINGS WOULD NOT BE IDENTIFIABLE THROUGH VISUAL EXAMINATION, NO
MATTER HOW CAREFUL.
