Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run - US - 1975 - 12" vinyl LP
Columbia PC 33795
The 'corrected misprint' sleeve - an uncommon early variant - hard to find in this condition.

The first print run of the US outer included a misprint in the credits, where producer Jon Landau's name was accidentally misspelt "John".
Some copies had been distributed / sold before the error was discovered - the 'misprint' sleeve.
The unsold 'misprint' copies were corrected before sale with a sticker applied over the misprint - the 'corrected misprint' - see photos.
See photos for tracklist / personnel.

side 2: P BL-33795-1A    MCR
handscratched - first press.

Disc - 'Excellent'
The disc still looks very good, nice glossy vinyl with fine scuffs & hairlines; but with visible marks both sides.
Clean labels without visible spindle-marking - see photos.
A visible mark right across side 2 announces itself early, with a couple of clicks and a fairly loud pop in the intro to "Born To Run", but is only very occasionally audible thereafter - looks very much worse than it sounds. No skips on mine - 1.5g tracking.
Otherwise plays like new, with (almost) no surface noise at all.
Sleeve - 'Excellent plus'
The US-spec heavy card gatefold outer feels like new in the hand; a closer inspection reveals only minor faults.
The outside is clean, but not quite pristine, with slight ring-marking to the back; a couple of corners are slightly bumped; there are a couple of tiny near-creases at right-angles to the spine. The opening edges are crisp, still sharp, as is the opposite edge.
The correction sticker is good, clean, legible - interestingly, the top line of uncorrected text - with the error - is just legible through the sticker, above the corrected version - see second photo.
The inside is almost pristine, with just a few tiny surface dinks; the shape of the disc is just visible on the surface of the rear inside - no ink-loss, just slight surface distortion.
The spine is superb, square, clean, legible; with just the finest of crease-marks down the centre - caused by opening the gatefold - see photo.
The original inner is lost - will supply new poly-lined paper inner.

Condition Guide

I use the Record Collector's Magazine's Grading Guide - which is also the ebay standard - to describe the condition of records.

"MINT - M: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT - Ex: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD - VG: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD - G: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

Note - I don't use 'Mint' as a description - and I don't sell less-than-'Good'.
