V.P. I.
Record Cleaning Machine
HW-27
" TYPHOON"
VPI INDUSTRIES
Everything VPI has learned in 27 years of manufacturing the world's best (and most copied) record cleaning machines is incorporated into this new design. The HW-27 "Typhoon" record cleaner features twice the suction power of the HW-17, making the "Typhoon" the most powerful record cleaning machine on the market. The HW-27's platter is made of frosted acrylic (the same platter used on VPI's legendary turntables) and its case is fashioned mostly of sheet metal, both of which are more durable than the materials used for the other VPI machines. The "Typhoon" comes with a dust cover, it has an automatic fluid-application, and scrubs bi-directionally (forwards & backwards) with the most powerful built-in vacuum.
This machine is so powerful you will hear things from your records that were never revealed by other cleaning machines. With the HW-27 "TYPHOON" and its unprecedented cleaning power, your album collection will sound better than it ever has before. With proper cleaning, your records will last longer, and it will reduce wear to your expensive needle. A record that may appear perfectly clean to the eye can contain a buildup of debris deep in the grooves. Even a brand new record contains debris from the manufacturing process which will be removed by the HW-27. The design is far more accessible to the user, not having to reach into the cramped 16.5 box design. Also has heavier-duty vacuum system with an all important cooling fan. The 16.5 is a manually operated version with a noisier motor and has no fan. Without the fan, you have to limit your cleaning to about a dozen records
per session...The HW-27 "Typhoon" adjusts automatically to thickness of record and is fast, convenient, beautifully constructed, and can be used indefinitely without overheating. The fan version of the HW-27 "Typhoon" is well worth the extra money for those post–garage-sale/record-convention analog orgies when only cleaning the whole pile will do. The bi-directional platter drive motor rotates at 18 RPM, a function installed in this machine to ensure that dirt which is in the bottom of the groove in one direction could be loosened by cleaning in the opposite direction.
