Just a couple of days ago, I bought a collection from an ex-Sony Music Australia divisional manager...he had some fine stuff...and a few interesting oddities.

Here's one of that lot:

MARIAH CAREY

subtitled:
"LIMITED EDITION 10 RECORD DJ BOX SET FEATURING CLASSIC AND IN-DEMAND MIXES"

(which pretty much sums it up)

Made in the UK in 1998 as a promotional-only item, consisting of ten 12" singles...on Sony's Columbia label. Catalogue number is: MARIAH-1

Each record comes in it's own individual sleeve within the box, and all sleeves are from MINT to EX condition. Each 12" record is also graded EX to MINT condition, with many of them being MINT, and the few others may have a scuff or some light 'hair-line' marks only...all merely from movement within the sleeves.

None of the records have ever been played - there are NO spindle marks on any labels...and the Sony guy said he'd had it stored away ever since 1998 when it was manufactured...and it'd simply been moved about on odd occasions...which would account for some scuffing and marks on the box. The bottom right corner of the box has a split and there's some scuffing in the other corners.
