The first settled line-up consisted of  (guitar, harmonica),  (piano),  (lead vocals, harmonica),  (guitar),  (bass) and  (drums). Jones left the band less than a month prior to his death in 1969, having already been replaced by , who left in 1975. Since then  has been on guitar in tandem with Richards. Following Wyman's departure in 1993,  has been the main bassist. Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued as occasional pianist until his death in 1985. Other notable keyboardists for the band have included , active from 1967 to 1982;  through the mid 1970s (most prominent on ); and , active since 1982. The band was first led by Jones, but after teaming as the band's songwriters, Jagger and Richards assumed  leadership.

The Rolling Stones were in the vanguard of the  of bands that became popular in the US in 1964–65. At first noted for their longish hair as much as their music, the band are identified with the youthful and rebellious . Critic Sean Egan states that within a year of the release of their 1964 debut album, they "were being perceived by the youth of Britain and then the world as representatives of opposition to an old, cruel order — the antidote to a class-bound, authoritarian culture." They were instrumental in making blues a major part of rock and roll, and of changing the international focus of blues culture to the less sophisticated blues typified by  artists such as , writer of "", the song after which the band is named. After a short period of musical experimentation that culminated with the poorly received and largely  album  (1967), the group returned to their bluesy roots with  (1968) which – along with its follow-ups,  (1969),  (1971) and  (1972) – is generally considered to be the band's best work, and are considered the Rolling Stones' "Golden Age". Musicologist  attributed the "remarkable endurance" of the Rolling Stones to being "rooted in traditional verities, in rhythm-and-blues and soul music" while "more ephemeral pop fashions have come and gone".

The band continued to release commercially successful records through the 1970s and selling many albums with  (1978) and  (1981) being their two most sold albums worldwide. In the 1980s, a feud between Jagger and Richards about the band's musical direction almost caused the band to split but they managed to patch their relationship and had a big comeback with  (1989) which was followed by a big stadium and arena tour. Since the 1990s, new recorded material from the group has been both increasingly less well-received and less frequent. Despite this, the Stones have continued to be a huge attraction on the live circuit with big stadium tours continuing through the 1990s and 2000s. The band made what were then the four  of all time ( (1994–95),  (1997–99),  (2002–03) and  (2005–07)).

The Rolling Stones were inducted into the  in 1989, and the  in 2004.  magazine ranked them fourth on the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" list, and their  are above 250 million. They have  twenty-nine studio albums, eighteen live albums and numerous compilations.  (1969) was their first of five consecutive number one studio and Live albums in the UK.  (1971) was the first of eight consecutive number one studio albums in the US. In 2008 the band ranked 10th on the "" chart. In 2012, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary.
The Rolling Stones' logo, designed by, was introduced in 1971.

Packaging :

I take great care during packaging and do each one personally. I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company. (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again.) Each piece is 1/4 inch thick and together they are very stronge. I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and add clear plastic and record sleeve. All packages are marked in red and white "Handle With Care Fragile" sticker on one side and "Do Not Bend" on other side.

Postage :

You have to pay for the postage.   This record will weigh 6 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail with tracking. I will send it through USPS and you will get an email with the tracking number. Overseas winners will get it sent by First Class Mail International. (Buyers from Brazil, France will assume all risks for shipping to your country.) I will send your record as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM, Monday thru Saturday) I will combine postage if you win more than one record. Please wait for my invoice for all of your winnings in one package

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

If you live anywhere outside of the U.S.: Packages are normally sent via first class airmail.

I am happy to ship internationally, however I will not change the value of the record. There are many reasons for this. First, I enjoy selling records and do not want to jeopardize that. Second, I include a receipt with the order and if customs were to examine the package, they would see the difference. Third, if something were to happen to the item in shipping, I would refund the customers money, but then not be able to claim what was lost. Thanks you for understanding.

Special services such as Global Priority or Registered mail may be required depending on value of item and shipping destination and will add additional fees. Buyer always pays any custom fees
