Wizz Jones : When I Leave Berlin. The Village Thing Records 1974 VTS24 Stereo.
Signed by Wizz Jones on the front cover - I can guarantee this as I bought it at one of his gigs at St Martins in the Fields , Trafalgar Square, in the cellar folk club, and he signed it in front of me after the show.
SLEEVE : Slight edgewear only, and spine is clear, some light blistering and creasing to edges. However needs repasting completely as front and rear sides have seperated along top and bottom edges ( spine still sound, holding )due to glue drying out I guess.
DISC : No obvious signs but is a little noisy and requires a good clean - about VG to VG+
I grade discs visually unless something like a genuine scratch ( but not hairline surface marks ) is present when I will play it to check the sound quality.I follow the Record Collector Magazine guide as shown below, and tend to be realistic with grades and descriptions. Having said that I would much appreciate it if you disagree with a grading on receipt, you contact me to sort out any problem before going to the feedback, I`m pretty easy going and fair to deal with. I pack with plenty of bubble wrap and stiff cardboard which I believe is better than commercial packing.
Other LP`s on sale or shortly will be, so please have a look at my other items. Postage for multiple purchases will be combined to the actual cost of posting and a few pence towards packaging costs. To keep costs down for everyone I will send by the cheapest available method eg LP`s in the UK go by 2nd class Small Parcel Post unless you wish to have them sent otherwise. Overseas purchases are sent by Airmail.
Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
