PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Original 1969 ADVANCED RELEASE PROMO of a high-end collectible from the Canadian psych scene, which was small but produced some essential Lp's (Plastic Cloud, Reign Ghost, The Haunted, A Passing Fancy, Ellison, Ugly Ducklings, etc.)

Here then, the rare and sought 49th Parallel's only album, listen to a delightful track as posted at bottom of description....

This is easily one of the top Canadian rock albums ever released. The album contains excellent material, including the pulsating psychedelia of ‘Lazerander Filchy’ and the ultra-strange ‘(The) Magician’, as well as the quintessential punk edginess of ‘Now That I’m a Man’ and ‘(Come On Little Child &) Talk To Me’. Dan Lowe’s blazing fuzz guitar work stands out, particularly on ‘Missouri’, and when challenged by organist Jack Velker’s brilliant stuttering work on ‘Eye To Eye’, ‘Talk To Me’ and ‘(The) People’. Strong melodies, great playing and sympathetic production, make for a must own collection of songs.

Furthermore the "fan Man" says: The ultimately most successful tracks on The 49th Parallel were written by a mysterious D. Hockett, like cool opener 'Now That I'm a Man', with its shades of Curt Boetcher at work in the summery production, or the Tomorrow-esque psych of 'Lazerabder Filchy'. 'Missouri' is more acidic, its breezy Farfisa organ swinging along amidst a more caustic - and at times intrusive - guitar solo. Add to that the infectious fare of 'Twilight Woman' and The 49th Parallel packs quite a punch. Elsewhere, there is plenty of hefty hard-rock, like Mundy's abrasive Hammond B-3 licks ('People') and Lowe's guitar, which though au courant are at times more of a burden than an anchor. Potentially the best track is "Close The Barn Door" (also released as a sought after 45) -- a psych-sliced fuzz nugget on the level with ANY of the legendary psych Lp's of the era.

The 49th Parallel, an oddly schizophrenic mix of sunshine pop, Anglo lysergia and the gruffer acid-rock sounds of the sixties.
