For sale: an original and now rare UK manufactured Audiolab 8000c control preamplifier.
This classic British preamp needs little by way of introduction. It's highly versatile, offering both line (CD,Tuner, Video, Tape 1 and Tape 2) inputs and a highly regarded built-in phono stage for both MM and MC cartridges.
It also offers a built in Class A headphone amplifier and defeatable tone controls.
Despite it's age, the unit is still in full working order and sounding fantastic. I have detected no sign that the liquid filled electrolytic capacitors have begun to dry out. I have had a lot of success with it, hooked up with a Naim NAP 250 'chrome bumper' power amp!
Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition, although the letters 'VOLU' above the volume control have become worn away (you guessed it - there is no 'remote control' with this amp!)
The unit weighs 6.0 kg and its dimensions are 445 x 74 x 335 mm.
