Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.
OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.
Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.
Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.
We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.
We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
Thank you for your interest and support.

RARE 1965 MONO Garage Punk WINNER!
MINT CLEAN FIRST PRINTING !!!
THE BARBARIANS
USA - LAURIE RECORDS - SLP 2033 STEREO
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※
Solid sharp final collection copy - over 50 years old ... one of "edgy" garage bands of the mid '60s who managed to release a full album, when so many local area bands of the era were destined to a career of 45's releases ...
Almost NEVER found clean, this was a east coast teen-scene party favorite in the mid 60s and nearly every copy around has wear and tear - here's a FABULOUS collection worthy copy (see below)
Original 1965 first pressing in true stereo and highly collectible...the stereophonix release offering speaker separation which differs from the easier to locate mono release
The Barbarians were one of the earliest of garage bands with the sound of twanged out guitars and sneering punk edgey vocals...MOULTY, THE DRUMMER, had only one hand and wore a hook to help him play drums.

Pre-dating The Seeds even, The Barbarians - formed in 1963 - were a pre-punk garage band straight out of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Their original line-up - consisting of Jeff Morris; Jerry Causi; Bruce Benson; and Victor "Moulty" Moulton - cut their first 45 in 1964 on tiny Massachusetts local imprint, Joy Records, a primitive British Invasion inspired number titled "Hey Little Bird".
Long haired and uniformly shod in jesus boots as part of some half-hearted gimmick, the real star of the band was Moulty himself, their one-handed drummer (and vocalist on this, their most infamous single) who sported a hook as the result of a tragic childhood accident at age 14 losing part of his left arm in an explosion.
The Barbarians wore leather sandals and grew their hair way longer than other rock bands at the time. Their minor hit, "Moulty" was a humorous and melodramatic autobiographical song chronicling the drummer's life and the loss of his hand. Moulton sings lead on "Moulty, but the other Barbarians do not play on the track. Instead, Moulton is backed by New York session musicians including members of Levon & The Hawks, later to be known as The Band. Although it barely scraped the Billboard charts, "Moulty" would gain a cult following when it was included on Lenny Kaye's Nuggets compilation in 1972.
Following a well secured appearance in Santa Monica's Teenage Music International show - sharing centre stage alongside a host of first division heavyweights including the Stones, James Brown, Chuck Berry, and the Beach Boys - the Barbarians were invited to record an album on Laurie; their predictably self-titled debut hit the racks in 1965. Although the Lp features the off-handedly cool (excuse the pun) "Are You A Boy, Or Are You a Girl ?", the rest of the album is an interesting mix of raw garage gems filled with twangy guitar and plenty of teen appeal 'attitude' ...
It was 1965 and they had their hit "Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl",' ... Moulty had hair to the middle of his back and as the band was walking from the dressing room to the stage, (in the ballroom at Mountain Park in Holyoke, MA) people were taunting him. The band started playing a few numbers, and Moulty and his drums were positioned above the three other guys, who were in the front of the stage. Somebody in the crowd had brought some snow in. They started throwing little bits of snow at Moulty. He stopped playing and told them to stop, that it's not good for his drums. He could see who was throwing the snow, though most people in the crowd couldn't. The second time it happened, Moulty did the same thing, told the guy to stop. But on the third time, he threw down his sticks. He ran and jumped off the stage and went after the guy. The three others did, too. The cops broke it up. It happened right in the middle of the dance shell.
