Produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Jane's Addiction), 2003's Frengers ("not quite friends but not quite strangers") is the breakthrough third album and first international release from Danish alternative rock band Mew which Spincalled, "experimental enough to woo fans of Radiohead and straight forward enough to lap up lovers of Coldplay." Six of the album's original ten tracks were previously featured on the group's first two limited releases A Triumph For Man (1997) and Half The World Is Watching Me (2000), but were rerecorded for Frengers while the remaining four were created especially for the record.
