PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

RARE & SOUGHT !!!

Original 1969 first press on France Middle Earth/Pop Music label ... very rare and sought after... this one "hits" with a sledgehammer on first play, meaning you know what you have...

Writing on the Wall were a Scottish rock band of the late 1960s and early 1970s who became a popular live act in the United Kingdom. The group originally formed in Edinburgh Scotland in 1966 as "the Jury", changing their name to Writing on the Wall in early 1968.

The band's manager, Brian Waldman, moved the group to London and let the band perform at his club, the Middle Earth.

Melody Maker music magazine felt sufficiently disturbed to comment that the band had "the reputation of being violent to frightening extremes".

As a result, Writing On The Wall became more theatrical, featuring choreographed fights, dressing up as a Caveman, a High Priest, a Monk and a Witchfinder, and the destruction of a Bubble car in support of the recently introduced breathalyser test. The Middle Earth club launched a label with this maniacal rock band as lead off act, releasing the LP The 'Power of the Picts' in 1969. As the front cover implies, Writing On The Wall have a strong personality, a well-defined style, which borders the darkness, which was in part influenced by Deep Purples manic "In RocK' Lp classic.  Linnie Patterson has a hellishly strong rugged voice, which integrates well with the Hard Prog Psychedelic songs. Of fundamental importance is the contribution of Bill Scott, and his amazing Hammond organ gushing all over the place, especially in the dialogues with the distortion guitar power of Willy Finlayson.

The Writing On The Wall is a button machine that moves in unison, a perfect understanding that sends adrenaline in abundance ...Example? Just listen to the extended composition 'Aries'. The damming, aggressive, played with the speed of light sounds of the Hammond (seemingly with 10 pairs of hands!)  and Linnie Paterson's amazing characteristic scream piercing vocals ala Purple's Ian Gillan.
