Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. CLEAN 1969 "MADE IN ENGLAND" collectible, hard to find for sure in minty solid condition, like this...

Following his departure from The Small Faces, in April 1969 singer/guitarist Steve Marriott was in Paris, providing sessions support to French musician Johnny Halliday. Having just left The Herd, Peter Frampton was working at the same sessions. The two quickly decided on a musical collaboration, recruiting former Art/Spooky Tooth/V.I.P.s bassist Greg Ridley and ex-Apostolic Intervention drummer Jerry Shirley into the line up (see separate entries). Now known as Humble Pie, the quartet spent several months in private rehearsals at Marriott's home out in the English countryside before scoring a recording contract with Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label.

Released in mid-1969, their debut "As Safe As Yesterday Is" highlighted the band's conflicting musical influences and interests. As to be expected, Marriott proved an advocate for a straight-ahead, no-holds-barred style of crotch rock (a roaring cover of Steppenwolf's "Desperation" and the self-penned "Bang!"). Frampton and the rest of the band opted for a much more varied mix, including the Indian-flavored instrumental "I'll Go Alone" and the title track (the only Marriott-Frampton collaboration). Unfortunately, their early efforts to accommodate the dual approaches resulted in varied styles, still popular enough to warrent a decent placing on the English charts, rising to #32
