Johanna Martzy

Mendelssohn - Violin Concerto in E minor
Beethoven - Romance No.1 in G major Beethoven - Romance No.2 in F major

The Philharmonia Orchestra
Conducted by Paul Kletzki
Mega-rare recording by one of the greatest violinists. There is no stereo version of this recording.
The vinyl is very bright and has just a few light scuffs and marks. Plays very well with just a little background noise. PLEASE NOTE THIS!!! There is some noise, clicks and ticks throughout, nothing major but don't bid if expecting flawless sound.
The labels are are excellent with no marks or ring wear. Sleeve is clean with just light creasing and minor cuts to mouth.
The spine is quite badly holed in places which I have tried to photograph.
This is a very rare and sought after recording, you won't see many for sale. As ever, offered with low start and no reserve

Label -  Columbia, 33CX1497 blue/gold, mono

IMPORTANT - Condition Please note that records will always gather dust. A record graded as excellent or even near mint will still have dust that will cause pops and crackles. You should fully clean any records to ensure optimum reproduction or choose CD's

This is graded as..

GRADINGS

Here is the guide from Record Collector publications for reference.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Only Records Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little or no lessening in sound quality. Clean, bright vinyl

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, there may be slight background noise,  surface marks or the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.

Cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Please also note I do not sit at my computer 24/7. Questions will be answered promptly but it is sensible not to ask a question just before an auction ends!!! I will post ASAP, usually within 24hrs Please see my other listings and return as I add regularly
