Each record is cleaned and then graded visually according to the following guidelines. Anything that looks less than VG+ will be put on the turntable to double check for skips and playability.

NM =  The record looks like it was played very few times, if at all. It will be shiny, glossy, and look pretty much brand new. A NM cover will look like it was just opened.

Strong NM- = The record is very close to NM, with one or two light imperfections that kept me from giving it a NM grade. A strong NM- cover has one or two minor imperfections.

NM- =  The record has a few minor imperfections that will not affect play. The cover has a few minor imperfections but still looks great.

Strong VG+ = This is the high end of the VG+ grade. The record is almost, but not quite, NM-. The cover is at the high end of VG+.

VG+ = The record has obviously been played many times and may have quite a few marks on it, but the marks are not deep (you can?t feel them with a fingernail) and they will affect play minimally. You might hear some light cracks or pops between tracks or during the quietest parts of the music. A VG+ cover will look used, with wear to the edges and corners, some light creasing, etc. but it is still a decent, average cover.

Strong VG = The record looks VG (see below), but it plays more like a VG+ record. The cover is beginning to have more than average wear.

VG = Lots of marks, some of them deep enough to feel with a fingernail, but it still provides an enjoyable listening experience. You will hear pops and cracks during play, especially during quieter tracks. A VG cover has heavy wear, seam splits, heavy creasing, etc. but it is not entirely trashed.

VG- = More serious defects, with a lot of surface noise, but the record still plays through without skipping.

G+ = It just gets worse from here and it would be rare for me to list a record in this condition.

I do my best to be conservative with my visual grading. If, after receiving the record, you feel that it was not described accurately, I do accept returns within 14 days of when they were received by the buyer. Return shipping is paid by the buyer. Once I receive the record, I will refund the original purchase price, including the original shipping cost.
