Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Over these eleven perfectly crafted tracks, Lou showed us various little panoramas of Andy Warhol and The Factory, transvest-ism, New York's [sexual] scene, urban decadence, [narcotics] use and more in a wonderful blend of humor and irony and in a brilliantly diverse musical setting. The guitar-driven hard rock of Hangin' Round and Vicious is balanced by the subdued power of the poetic Perfect Day and the imaginative arrangements of Walk On The Wild side and Goodnight Ladies. Transformer is a literate, intelligent and enduring statement of an era and is one of the few albums of the glam-rock movement that has survived with its artistic integrity intact and that still has something to say today. David Bowie and Mick Ronson produced it with all the expertise they lent to the Ziggy Stardust album. But its varied styles, broader subject matter and feel of personal experience make it a better album than Ziggy Stardust. Unlike on most of Reed's other albums, there is great melodic variety too, and classic pop like the poignant Satellite of Love ought to have been as great a hit as Walk On The Wide Side! This most accessible album of Reed's was a deserved commercial success and spawned a million dreams. Lou's music may be dark and scary sometimes but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and it's always a joy to travel with him on his greatest LP in TRANSFORMER.

CONDITION: COVER: is solid all over, rated "EX" (excellent) laminated, this is a decent collectible, it's the fragile Germany original from 46 years ago, again, laminated cover. Only LIGHT signs of previous use, not quite M- but no one is going to need to up-grade. It's normally highly wear-prone cover and not
with the wear commonly seen. So scarce to find a still collectible original like this. Has no split seams, no writing , no delete marks .., enjoy!!
The Vinyl: all glossy clean over both sides, CLEAN M- real smooth and clear, so plays terrific ! Both orange RCA labels are clean
