What does "AUDIOPHILE" mean?
The term "Audiophile" now means that the vinyl pressing of this record is on PURE VINYL. Most vinyl pressings before 1990 had other ingredients and impurities added to cut costs. Pure vinyl has none. They are easy to spot since they appear to be translucent when held up to a bright light. Pure vinyl pressings should have virtually NO surface noise and wear out MUCH slower than regular pressings. No surface noise and a longer life span are definitely a plus. Starting in the mid-80's to the early 90's 'some' record labels began pressing 'some' radio promos on pure vinyl so that they would have to be replaced less often, thus saving money. They are not 'all' that common, but an 'audiophile' pressing over a 'regular' pressing is most assuredly a really good thing!

VARIOUS HEAVY ROCK ARTISTS
"Hear 'N Aid"
(Mercury 830675) Original 1987 1st US Audiophile Promo pressing LP
(see photos for track listing)

Visual grading of disc: Near Mint
(Never played. Limited promo pressing on pure vinyl with custom promo labels. Disc is translucent when held up to light.
Has one tiny hairline mark from the inner sleeve and a few sleeve scuffs - these do not affect play)

Condition of sleeve: Shelf wear is fairly light even though it's mostly black. Barely visible ring wear (see
all photos). A couple small creases along edges. Includes inner sleeve with credits shown in photo #3.
Inner sleeve has mid-sized splits on each side and a small one on the bottom. Also includes xeroxed letter
on textured card stock paper from Ronnie James Dio shown in photos #5 & 6. I once had 6 copies of this disc and only 2 of them
had this printed letter in them, so they are indeed pretty rare and were not included in all copies.

(I redacted a portion of the letter on the front for this photo to prevent duplication.
Your copy will look normal as shown in photo #7.)

Continuing with the liquidation of my music collection passing them on to people who can more appreciate them.
These are items from my collection of nearly 40,000 promo 45s, LP's & CD's from the 60's thru the 00's that I was
fortunate to acquire from doing 37 years of on-air Rock Radio.

All of my records are guaranteed original pressings unless otherwise noted.

These records were sorted, stored, moved a few times, and then stored again for decades.
Most were stored carefully, some were not. All of my gradings are visual and more often than not, quite generous.
Just check my feedback. You can bid and buy with confidence.

We've been selling and shipping music worldwide since 1982.

PLEASE READ MY MY GRADING SCALE
(Near Mint and Mint Minus are not the same grade)

Near Mint:
Our highest grade for an opened vinyl. Record will be close to perfect in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small hairline mark, scratch or some paper scuffs on play area but no audible distractions.
It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed').
Mint minus: A scuff or two or a very light mark or two on either or both sides that may possibly be heard.
VG++: One step down. A few faint marks or paper scuffs that may be audible. May show some signs of use.
VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will more than likely be heard.
VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play through.

Record grading is subjective. We offer a 100% money back guarantee on everything we sell.
If there's any problem, we'll arrange a return and full refund for you.
If the problem is 'our' fault, we will pay the full return shipping cost.
