Patto's debut album is unlike other mock-progressive groups of the time: TRAFFIC, KING CRIMSON, JETHRO TULL, etc.
It's charged by Ollie Halsall's melodic,fast jazzy guitarwork. Mike Patto's vocals are also a focal point. Maniac rough and sung in a style like a guy talking to his best friend and giving him advice.
TIME TO DIE has to be the lp's spotlight song---
it rises and falls with soft parts and rockin' refrains, not unlike the TIMEBOX song, "HEARTBREAKER".
THE MAN opens the album and reminds one of a lo-fi LED ZEPPELIN, minus the highpitched vocals of Plant. SAN ANTONE was a frequently played track PATTO performed live and on British television. It's heavy as hell and is one that'll have you returning to it a lot.
MONEY BAG starts out with jazz noodling then launches into an OLLIE mega riff, then gently gliding into a stop-and-go mellow blend of sound tapestry.
