Johnny Williams – Rhythm in Motion (Jazz Easy LP) (1961)
Good UK issue of film composer John Williams' first album, a big-band showtunes collection, 'Rhythm in Motion', which dates from 1961, when he was known as "Johnny" Williams.
Condition VINYL: G+. Clean on visual inspection. No obvious scratches or scuffs. Just
play pre-listing and there is some light surface noise and the odd
clicking throughout. Less obvious during louder cues.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG. Superb laminated cover with colours remaining bright. Some vein-like creasing. Delamination in bottom left corner. Corners show some wear but edges and spine are clean and unscuffed with only
the odd crease. Spine is in fair shape with some creases and nicks. Wear at top and bottom of spine. Aperture is not too
badly worn. Reverse is entirely intact. Flipbacks are also secure with soiling and staining around all edges. Foxing present in a few places. Overall, very good.
INNER SLEEVE: F-G. Original. Off-white paper with central hole. Some tears from centre and folds / creases. Clean and intact.

Review
Hear John Williams conduct some big band jazz 53 years ago.... before he moved onto scoring TV programmes and ultimately major films as he is best known today!
Rhythm in Motion does not feature Williams compositions—or even film music at all. Rather, it comprises 12 popular showtunes arranged by Williams into upbeat instrumentals for enhanced big band. Even at this early point of his career, Williams was a master of orchestral color—imagine Broadway's famous melodies orchestrated like the Lost in Space theme, and you have a sense of the delights of this album.
