Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!

Marian McPartland signed with Capitol soon after leaving Savoy in the mid-'50s, yet none of her sessions for the label have been reissued by legitimate companies. These 1956 studio dates with bassist William Britto and drummer Joe Morello at least equal, if not exceed, her earlier recordings for Savoy, though they will seem a bit conservative when measured against her enormous output for her own Halcyon label and Concord since 1969. The emphasis is primarily on ballads, with the earliest recording of her bittersweet ballad "There'll Be Other Times" and a touching version of "The Things We Did Last Summer." But she romps with the best pianists of the era with her lively take of Oscar Pettiford's "Bohemia After Dark" (while giving some solo space to her bandmates) and the old warhorse "Hallelujah!" She also makes a rare appearance on celeste during a portion of "Symphony."

Tracks: Stompin’ at the savoy/ The things we did last summer/ Bohemia after dark/ Dream a little dream of me/ Hallelujah!/ The baron/ This love of mine/ Carioca/ Symphony/ There’ll be other times.
There are a few light spindle marks on labels.  Record has a few light scuff and is in Near Mint condition. Gloss cover with back flaps has some light age spots and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in Excellent condition.
