Up for auction is a very nice original pressing of the Cream album Wheels Of Fire, originally released in the U.S. on ATCO Records (SD 2-700) in 1968:

Note: Sides 3 & 4 are, in my humble opinion the best live recordings of Cream from this era.  Side 3's live "Spoonful" paved the way for the classic heavy rock genre to follow, especially Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.  A must-have for any collector.

Condition: Foil cover is in great shape--these covers were very prone to wear, and unless they are still in the factory shrink wrap, virtually every copy will have some rubbing wear, but this copy is one of the nicer ones I've come across.  Has some light ring wear on front top middle, but not severe.  Mild creasing to a couple corners.  Ring wear top middle on back.  Seams are great, no splits or cracking.  Spine is tight, and titles are clear and legible.  Interior is clean and colorful.  Very nicely preserved original. Grade: Excellent (EX), better than typical VG+ copies you'll find
Vinyl is also in great shape, still has its original glossy shine.  Records look very clean, with only a small superficial needle mark on Side 4.  Other than that, just some faint superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeves a few times.  Labels are clean, unmarked, no wear around spindle holes.  Looks like these records have maybe been played only once or twice but handled with care.  Plays very clean and clear.
