The Velvet Underground & Nico "The Velvet Underground & Nico (self-titled)" 1972 3rd-variation (torso airbrushed) stereo LP, Verve V6/5008 gatefold cover, very rare transitional labels (Side 1 has the bottom label print "MGM-A Division Of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc.-Made In U.S.A.", Side 2 has the bottom label print "Manufactured by MGM Records, Inc., 7165 Sunset Boulevard Hollywood, Calif. 90046", this mis-matched label configuration is actually documented as 1972 (around the time Polygram purchased MGM records), this is the last of the covers with the "peel-off" banana sticker - after this version the covers were made with a "printed" banana, the vinyl is an amazing glossy NM- on both sides (you could possibly call this EXC+ but it is shockingly "super-clean"), I don't think I've ever had this record this clean before; the labels are EXC with just a small, normal bit of spindle-wear; the VG+ cover lays flat but you can see - when stood up - the mouth portion bows a bit, this cover, however, remarkably does not have seam splits (the edges look fragile and a bit rubbed but are not split), the front and rear panels have just a modicum of age-spots (foxing) but not much, the banana has some wrinkling and the top stem has been 'played' with (nothing major), comes with the original Verve inner sleeve in solid EXC condition.  U.S. buyer to pay $4.00 media shipping (priority available upon request).  International buyer please inquire for costs.  Insurance at the discretion of the buyer.
