Lace Da Booms ORIG US 2 X 12” Untitled EX ’97 Guesswhyld GW400 Hip hop Original US 2 X 12" released in 1997 on Guesswhyld Records. Cat: GW400.

Brooklyn rapper Lace Da Booms entered the NYC underground hip hop scene with bags of talent and potential to showcase and an important point to make. His first 12″ single ‘Cut That Weak Shit’, which was produce by Buckwild and released in 1996, was a personal reaction to the increasing movement towards the watered down, R’n’B infused, pop radio friendly hip hop that had begun even then to infect the hip hop industry. Lace Da Booms was making a stand a promoting the production of real hip hop in the best way imaginable. After this initial release the emcee seemed destined for a long and illustrious career on the mic. Together with his friend and business partner Matt Fingaz, Lace had created the well respected independent record company Guesswhyld Productions, which has released music from such underground artists as Mike Zoot, Tommy Tee, and El Da Sensei. It was on the Guesswhyld imprint that Lace released all of the 12″ singles that he put out in the 1990’s. All of the tracks that Lace Da Boom dropped in the 1990’s are worth checking out for all those true school boom bap hip hop junkies.
