Blues and Boogie-Woogie - Sugar Chile Robinson: "Go Boy Go" Import from Holland on Duo Records (DR-3101).
VG++ vinyl (see below). Lower RH corner indentation on cover (see photo).
Detroiter Frank "Sugar Chile" Robinson was a child prodigy of boogie-woogie piano. See photos of liner notes for more info. Note that Sugar Chile Robinson did not "disappear into complete obscurity" as the liner notes indicate. Look him up on wikipedia for more info.
"Sugar Chile" plays piano and sings, accompanied by bass and drums. According to the liner notes, the songs were recorded in the late 40s and early 50s. 16 songs on this album. See photos for song list.
Most of the record plays quietly with occasional static. Some songs are a bit noisier, with that noise stopping abruptly at the end of the song. Makes you think that some of the sources might have been well-used 78s. I listened to the entire record.
I saw several singles on eBay (78s and 45s) on Capitol Records. Not surprisingly, the originals are pricey in some cases. I saw no other copies of this compilation LP.
Ships USPS Media mail in a record mailer. In that box, the record is protected by an additional piece of cardboard on each side.
I combine shipping. If you plan to buy more than one item, do not make a final payment. Once you’ve made your selections, send me a message that you are finished shopping, and I will invoice you with a combined shipping rate. Please note that magazines, catalogs, and any other item containing advertising CANNOT be sent Media Mail (Post Office rules).
Note that this shipping rate applies to the continental 48 states only. Shipping may be more expensive and much slower to Alaska and Hawaii.
