The albums recorded by Serge Gainsbourg between 1958 and 1968 were
originally mixed in mono — in the 1960s, this was the standard for
sound. In order to meet the changing listening standards, these records
were subsequently subjected to stereophonic mixes. Stereo replaced the
mono and, over the various renditions, the mono completely disappeared,
It was therefore no longer possible to listen to the songs of Serge
Gainsbourg as they appeared at the origin.In order to bring the best
sound quality, the soundtracks were entrusted to the sound engineer
Miles Showell (in charge of Rolling Stones, Queen, etc.) who performed
the mastering at Abbey Road studio with Half Speed Master
technology.
