Grading Policy

I adhere to the Goldmine grading system and will give specifics about visual and play condition to justify my grading. Here is a quick rundown of how I grade both LPs/ 45s.

Ex : almost never given for a vintage used record unless there appear to be no marks or blemishes, gloss and lustre is strong; visually appears unplayed. Play should be almost flawless. Cover may be in shrink or show no wear.

VG+: great listening without consistent surface noise; play condition should be considered slight or better with some rare clicks, rustling in a few places allowed, but most of the record should play clean; visually these records may have a few scuffs or hairlines that cannot be felt and do not affect play. Covers will have all seams completely intact and little to no wear or damage.

VG: still a very good listening experience, especially acceptable if records are harder to find/older; more scuffs and hairlines may be noticeable visually but none are marks that can be felt with a finger/nail. Most VG records will play with some slight noise throughout, that does not overpower the music. A VG record may play very well (very infrequent noise) depending on a system despite visual blemishes. VG covers still have all seams intact but may have more wear or a single small split starting.

VG-/G+: I lump these records in the same category and will describe play and visual condition. This grading is reserved for records with significant visual or play condition including louder, more consistent noise, a lot of scuffing and marks, or some marks (scratches) that are feelable, can minimally affect play (G+), but do not cause jumps or skips. Covers in this condition may have partial or complete seam splitting, damage to front/back cover, etc.
