Hello!
For your consideration is the original 1969 withdrawn hot mix of Led
Zeppelin II, mastered by Robert Ludwig and then quickly withdrawn
due to it not being playable on a lot of record players at the time
because of so much powerful and dynamic music being pressed in the grooves of the album!
Side 1 has RL SS in the runout, and Side 2 does have the super narrow
deadwax with RL SS. This one was pressed at Specialty Records Corporation and does have SRC in the runout on Side 2.
This will always be the most incredible pressing of Led Zeppelin II, bar none, and this is a great entry level copy. I have opted for a low starting price, as a nice way to acquire it for those on a budget (stellar copies are now going for $1000 and up these days).
Visually, the record is in VG- condition, with lots of scratches on both sides, nothing I could detect that can be felt with a fingernail.
The very good news is that this plays far better than it looks. Of course the quiet sections of songs play with
plenty of surface noise, but you will absolutely appreciate the incredible power of this pressing on the rocking parts (there are plenty, as you already know) and you're going to have a big smile for a large portion of your listening experience with this most special of Led Zeppelin original vintage pressings.
There are no skips and no repeats, no distorted/chewed up grooves, or no other major issues to speak of.
Cover is in VG- condition as well, with both panels being split open, some writing, usual wear seen on this cover, etc.
The record has been professionally cleaned on my VPI machine, and has
been placed in a new Japanese poly die-cut inner sleeve. The record will
be packed properly with the inner sleeve/vinyl removed from the cover
and between 2 stiffeners.
