Description

LED ZEPPELIN

"IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR"

UK 1ST PRESS 1979 "A" TYPE SLEEVE

The album featured an unusual gimmick: the album had an outer sleeve which was made to look like a plain brown paper bag to disguise the six different sleeves making impossible for record buyers to tell which sleeve they were getting.  All the pictures of the sleeve depicted the same scene in a bar and each photo was taken from the separate point of view of someone who appeared in the other sleeve photos. The inner sleeve also had a gimmick and when got wet the colour changed to look like a child colouring.

The vinyl is visually in excellent condition for side 1 and in very good condition for side 2. Please see below a description of grades and note that this vinyl is 45 years old that has been played and will not transform into anything different to the condition stated.

The "A" type cover is complete in excellent condition.

The spine is in excellent condition and fully legible.

The Swan Song labels are in excellent condition.

The inner sleeve with the colouring gimmick is in excellent plus condition.

There is no outside paper bag.

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and sixty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

Guide to grades used
Mint
Cover - Looks new - no marks, wear or damage
Disc - Looks unplayed - no marks visible

Near Mint
Cover - Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.
Disc - May have minor scuffs &/or hairline scratches caused by moving record in & out of paper sleeve

Excellent
Cover - Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.
Disc- The record has been played and has superficial marks &/or hairline scratches and paper scuffs.

Very good
Cover - Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.
Disc - The record has been played frequently and has noticeable surface marks, occasional light scratches and paper scuffs.

Good
Cover - Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage.
Disc - The record looks very well played and the sound quality has probably deteriorated noticeably. A lot of surface marks/scratches. Usually used as collection filler

I am not a dealer but an amateur collector selling duplicated items or records that I no longer want to keep (mostly due to space). Unless indicated in the listing the records have been only visually inspected.
