Artist Bio: During the 1930's J.E. Mainer's Mountaineers could be heard usually twice a day over many radio stations in the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Georgia.  Born in a one-room shack on July 20, 1898, J.E. (Joseph Emmet) Mainer learned to play the banjo when he was about nine years old. He worked the cotton mills for many years. When he was 34 years old they got a break and left their cotton mill job to do radio shows for the Crazy Water Crystal Company.  Known as the "Crazy Mountaineers" they were one of the most popular groups for a long time.

Condition: Catalog Number F-5002 was graded using the Goldmine Grading Standard. The media is graded VG+ due to a few light scratches that should not affect playing. Rated Excellent, the original outer sleeve is still covered in the original shrinkwrap (opened) and could even pass as NM . The original inner sleeve is VG+ due to color aging. Since it's not play-graded, we grade conservatively and keep prices low to earn happy customers.

Cleanliness: Media has been handled carefully through a two-step cleaning process, first with an anti-static carbon fiber record brush. Second, it is properly cleaned with recording cleaning fluid, pad, and cloth. The cleaned media is stored in a new inner paper sleeve. Please see the photos for more detail on the item condition.

Shipping: The media arrives in a new anti-static clear vinyl sleeve, wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a record mailer box, marked "fragile."
