To be honest I really can't find out much about The Gospel Tones that appear on this 78 although there have been many groups since this record was made that have called themselves the Gospel Tones!

All l can tell you is that both sides of this record are absolutely wonderful!

Powerful lead female solo (what a range!) with female backing vocals

accomp by Piano and soaring organ

These sides came from a Savoy session in August 1958 - four tracks were recorded but only these two were ever released.

God knows why!  

I don't - because these sides are spine-chilling

This is part of the consignment of Mint stock 78s that were brought over to the UK by Chris Barber over 35 years ago and have been langueshing in a Garage ever since. Storage conditions have not been ideal and there may be the odd blemish and very slight warping but the records have come straight out of their factory boxes in their original sleeves.
