DONOVAN Cosmic Wheels (Epic 65450) Chris Spedding UK 1st Pressing w/Poster & Inserts MINT-
RARE first UK pressing of Donovan`s "Cosmic Wheels", released on Epic Records (March 1973).
True to the time and place in which "Cosmic Wheels" was recorded, we find our cosmic bard in star-studded regalia and full-on glam-rock mode! Literally working in the studio next door to Alice Cooper`s, Donovan even provided his distinct backing vocals to Cooper`s "Billion Dollar Babies" title track. So taken in by the aesthetic and (perhaps) commercial promise of glam was he that "Cosmic Wheels" was the shimmering result!
"Cosmic Wheels" itself is none the worse for its glam influence and, with sterling musicianship by the likes of Chris Spedding (guitar), Cozy Powell (drums) or Bobby Keys and Jim Horn from the Rolling Stones horn section, it remains an exciting testament to those decadent, waning days of UK psychedelia.
GRADING:
MINT- COVER, perfect except for a slightly bumped/bent corner (at top left). Please see photos for details.
- Original textured, deluxe UK gatefold sleeve "Printed by Shorewood Packaging Co. Ltd., England".
- 3-4 light creases to the cover spine.
- Otherwise, the cover is in absolutely pristine condition.
- Also includes the gimmicky, large circular Donovan poster/lyric sheet that has very probably never been opened.
- Custom-printed "cosmic" inner sleeve in EX(+) condition, fully intact.
MINT- RECORD, played a very few times at most.
- A few of the very lightest, superficial hairlines from sleeve removal only.
- Immaculate labels with no spindle wear whatsoever.
- Impeccable audio reproduction throughout, with practically zero background crackle, even between tracks.
- Matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "EPC 65450 A-4" and "EPC 65450 B-4", respectively.
...BTW this record is hardly comparable to the often sub-standard quality encountered on eBay UK: This purchase offers you true value for money!

eBay`s maximum mailing cost for the US is predetermined at $4. Obviously, the pricing system does not foresee foreign sellers listing in the US. However, we cannot possibly ship a record to the US from Europe for this price. Please bid only if you agree with the mailing costs as outlined above.
