The first of four volumes featuring highpoints from the Decca Ellington recordings, this set features music from the Bubber Miley era including "Immigration Blues" (from the first session when Duke Ellington's band established its identity) to early versions of "East St. Louis Toodle-oo" and "Black and Tan Fantasy."
