BELL + ARC Bell + Arc (Charisma CAS 1053) Skip Bifferty UK 1st Pink scroll MINT-
RARE original UK first pressing of Bell+Arc`s one-and-only release, the eponymously titled "Bell+Arc" on Charisma Records (c. September 1971).
Graham Bell, original vocalist extraordinaire of Skip Bifferty, was undisputably one of the very finest voices of British rock - and perhaps the most underrated of them all! This was a view obviously shared by erstwhile Bob Dylan producer Bob Johnston, who took on production chores for "Bell+Arc" -resulting in an exceptionally soulful rendering of Dylan`s "She Belongs To Me"- as well as producing Graham Bell`s solo follow-up, "Graham Bell" (1972).
Unfortunately, despite (or perhaps due to?) the unmistakable musical quality on display on both these albums, the fine singer`s career floundered - and all but petered out in the 70s. Arc band members Mickey Gallagher and John Turnbull went on to even greater things as members of Ian Dury`s Blockheads.
