This Will Destroy You, often abbreviated to TWDY, is an American post-rock band from San Marcos, Texas, formed in 2005. The band consists of guitarists Jeremy Galindo and Chris King, bass player and keyboardist Donovan Jones and drummer Alex Bhore. They typically compose lengthy atmospheric instrumental pieces, featuring layers of effects-laden guitar and a heavy usage of dynamics.

 

This Will Destroy You is the eponymous first studio album by the American band This Will Destroy You. It was released on January 29th 2008 through Magic Bullet Records.

 

The vinyl version of the album contains a quote from the television series Deadwood (“I may have f*cked my life up flatter than hammered sh*t, but I stand before you today beholden to no human c*cksucker”) etched around the center label.

 

Burial on the Presidio Banks” is featured in the final scene of CSI: Miami episode “Flight Risk”.

 

They Move on Tracks of Never-Ending Light” was used as part of an NBC introductory film narrated by Tom Brokaw which oveviews Canada for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

 

The Mighty Rio Grande” is used prominently throughout the 2011 film Moneyball.
