Fall Out Boy is an American band from , formed in 2001. The band consists of vocalist/guitarist , bassist , guitarist , and drummer . The members originally played in local underground bands before forming Fall Out Boy. With Pete Wentz as the band's primary lyricist and Patrick Stump as the primary composer, Fall Out Boy broke out of the underground music scene and reached mainstream success with their major label album . Released in 2005 as the follow-up to their 2003 debut , the album won several awards and achieved status after selling more than 2.7 million albums in the United States, spawning top ten singles "" and "".

In 2007, Fall Out Boy released their third album , to major chart success, debuting at number one on the and selling 260,000 copies in its first week, with top five chartings worldwide.
