"Mick Abrahams' first formal solo album is more focused on blues and blues-rock, and far less on jazz, than his work with Blodwyn Pig, and is a better record for it. For first-time listeners, much of this record will recall Clapton's first post-Cream solo album in its generally laid-back sound and the presence of a fairly strong country blues influence. Abrahams' vocals here are a little more mournful than soulful -- his playing (especially when he picks up an acoustic guitar) is up to his usual standard, however, and Ritchie Dharma's drumming is dizzying in its speed and complexity."   - Bruce Eder for allmusic.com

- Original first-pressing sleeve, with textured "bricking" effect on the back cover.
- The gatefold sleeve has a slight offset (2-3 mm) at the outer edge.

EX+ to MINT- RECORD, obviously carefully played a few times.
- A few light hairlines, predominantly from sleeve removal, cause slight background crackle in beween tracks.
- Overall in MINT- condition, the record has a small cluster of tiny scratches (in "Not To Rearrange"), causing 7-8 light pops during playback.
- Earliest first pressing Chrysalis Records labels ("Manufactured and distributed by Island Records"), with nary a sign of spindle wear.
- The matrix stamps in the run-out grooves read "ILPS 9147 A-1U" and "ILPS 9147 B-1U", thereby clearly denoting a very first UK pressing.
- This record is fully certified to be a first UK pressing of "A Musical Evening With The Mick Abrahams Band", issued in 1971.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay UK, this item is in honestly-graded EX+ to MINT- condition: You will not find another copy of "A Musical Evening With The Mick Abrahams Band" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price. "True value for money"  is the motto here!
