Monster Magnet formed in 1989, fusing a template born of metal, punk, space rock and psychedelic influences. The band soon developed a sludgy, feedback-heavy hard rock sound that helped them stand out from the era's burgeoning retro-rock movement. With 1995's Dopes to Infinity, their third full-length overall and follow-up to 1993's Superjudge, Monster Magnet achieved their first commercial success, becoming international superstars in the process.

Recorded at The Magic Shop and Electric Lady Studios in New York, the album yielded the top-ten rock single "Negasonic Teenage Warhead," still a staple of the band's live set to this day. Now the album is beefed up with the 16 minute bonus track "Forbidden Planet" from the "Look To Your Orb For The Warning" single courtesy of this double vinyl reissue from Obscure Alterna. Housed in a gatefold sleeve.
