THE BEST OF MUDDY WATERS LP (Chess Records LP-1427 mono). Released 1957.
Heart-stopping & Eerie. Many Many big surprises, including "Louisiana Blues", "She Moves Me" & "Still A Fool". Great echo on Little Walter's harmonica, not to mention the bass drum & Otis Spann's piano. Fine electric slide guitar (From Muddy?). I play-graded this on an average turntable. Even with the ticks & pops, the music is greatly enjoyable, with the surface noise being separate from the music grooves. (Etched matrix #: "8646/8547 <502").
Surface is scored with scratches & flecks. None are truly deep to the touch. No skips on my table.
COVER G
Top & bottom seam splits. Heavy scuffs on back. Front looks very nice w/ wonderful color! No front ring wear. No stickers. Weathered spine is all readable. Side A label has tiny tear, plus transparent spindle brushings.
To save you money, we combine multiple purchases. Securely packed in protective plastic polybag (disc outside of jacket) & extra padding.
