THE DOORS Waiting For The Sun (Elektra EKS-74024) RARE US 1st Pressing MINT-
RARE original US pressing of The Doors` third album, "Waiting For The Sun" on Elektra Records (July 1968).
"Waiting for the Sun is a respectable, if unimpressive, third album; it at least represents an advance over Strange Days (which had the knack of sounding like the  first Doors album, only not as good). Nevertheless the Doors are not a particularly exciting hard rock band and Morrison is something like rock music's equivalent  to Rod McKuen. Whether all this adds up to the praise that has been heaped on the Doors in some circles is open to question. As for the music, great rock it isn't — but then Morrison is supposedly our generation's sex symbol. Anyway the cover is pretty." - Jim Miller in Rolling Stone, September 28, 1968.
GRADING:
EX++ COVER with minimal allround wear. Please see photos for details.
- Original unlaminated unipak-style gatefold sleeve, as found on US first pressings only.
- Minor corner bump (at top right).
- Minimal wear to bottom edge.
- Includes the custom-printed Elektra Records inner sleeve in MINT- condition, with a small seam split (at bottom).

EX+ RECORD with very moderate overall wear.
- Very passable vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Sporadic background crackle in between some tracks and in a few quiet passages.
- A few lightest hairlines, mainly from sleeve removal. Visible under strong light only.
- A single superficial scuff runs the width of Side One. This is a scuff, not a scratch and it`s absolutely inaudible.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "EKS 74024 A-SON" and "EKS 74024 B-SON", denoting a US first pressing.
- This copy of "Waiting For The Sun" is certified to be an original very first US pressing, released in July 1968.
