VINYL is VG at opening of sides and the gets to VG+ or even better as the lp plays thru the side. It will have background noise especially at the quiet parts of the beginning. I must say, that overall, this is one of the most difficult lps to find a true 1st pressing like this that is without background noise at all. I just went thru about 8000 lps I own, and I had multiple copies of this lp....and this was one of the best. So be very leery when someone says they have an EX or NM 1st pressing....the inner sleeve for this record alone was made of thick, rough paper...enough to degrade the vinyl by just taking it out and placing it back in. And this lp was SO iconic and important...that all of them were played--and taken out and put back in this very rough inner sleeve.
ULTRASONIC CLEANED -- I just cleaned it on my new Ultrasonic Record cleaner, and put it in a fresh sleeve. It really does make a difference in the sound quality....it gets rid of stuff other methods just can't tackle....I am hooked! Ready to enjoy for years to come.
COVER is VG+...really quite nice. The gatefold has never been opened fully, and the spine is still very strong. There is a 3" seam split on the upper rear...see close up.
