Released in 1967, Axis: Bold as Love was the second studio album from Jimi Hendrix and the Experience.
Despite its rushed recording and release - it was essentially made to fulfill the Experience's contract, which stated that they must produce two records in 1967 - the LP is universally hailed as a bona fide classic.
Rolling Stone, for instance, ranked it at #82 on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and later awarded it the top spot in their rundown of the 40 Greatest Stoner Albums.
