GREATEST HITS II (1st pressing)

On offer here is a rare first pressing (A2/B1/A1/B2) of GH2 released in October 1991.  It has the embossed crest slightly raised on the front cover.  The whole package is in superb order and I would say the vinyls have been barely played such is the audio.  The gatefold is also in wonderful condition. 

Visual grading

To the naked eye both vinyls are in superlative condition and under a strong bright light I can only detect a couple of wispy hairlines on Side Two.  There are certainly no scratches.  In superb condition for 25 years and the audio reflects that.  Visually the vinyls are stunning.

Play grading

The vinyls have been very well cared for and in my opinion hardly played.  Having play tested both I can confirm the audio is of the highest standard.  You will expect the odd 'indiscretion' of vinyl this age but here there is almost zero background noise.  The only blemish on Side One is two faint clicks at the beginning of 'Under Pressure' and apart from that pure unadulterated listening pleasure!  Side Two plays with the same quality with barely any static.  'Who Wants To Live Forever' again plays with almost zero static, just a hint of distortion.  Still sounds superb and the ending is sublime!

Side Three continues in the same vein and if anything plays better....if that is possible!  With almost zero static this side could easily be graded as Mint but I will err on the side of caution.  'Hammer To Fall' does have two faint clicks at the beginning of Side Four but thereafter plays with no issues.  The remainder of the side plays nigh on perfectly with 'One Vision' playing with just minor distortion, again common with final tracks.

It is worth noting just how well the vinyls play through the speakers.  Manufactured with high quality vinyl it certainly makes a difference to the audio and gives a louder sound and greater depth.

Gatefold cover

The gatefold is without doubt one of the best I have seen and there is only very minor wear.  There is a little pinching on the bottom of the spine and a very minor rubbing on the bottom edge of the reverse side but apart from that it is in superb condition.  A couple of light creases around the edges and very faint rubbing on the opening edge.  This sounds like I'm over-stating the 'imperfections' but as my regular buyers know I give a full and honest account on all my records including the covers.  This gatefold is still in great condition with only very minor shelf wear!

Picture sleeves

The lyric sleeves are in perfect condition which is so rare as they so often have splits.  Not these two!  You will not find bettter.
