When Magnus Pelander founded Witchcraft back in the year 2000, he just did so to record a Pentagram tribute album. It took until 2002 for the band to finally release their first single. With their follow-up albums Witchcraft (2004), Firewood (2005) and The Alchemist (2007) they manifested their distinctive signature sound that has earned them the destinction of being known as Sweden's finest psychedelic/classic rock band. Enter 2012, the band had found a new home with Nuclear Blast and released Legend, their first album in five years. Originally being both a guitarist and singer, Pelander chose to focus on his unique vocals only from here on. With an all new line-up and the fine, authentic production by renowned producer Jens Bogren (Kreator, Paradise Lost, Opeth, Amon Amarth) Legend was a strong statement and payback for all the Witchcraft fans who had been waiting for new sign of life from the band. Legend landed at No. 12 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
