Released in 1973, The Dark Side of the Moon is the iconic eighth album from Pink Floyd. Widely hailed as one of the greatest long-players of all time, the record explores themes including conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Syd Barrett's deteriorating mental state.
As well as selling around 45 million copies, the record remained on the US Billboard chart for 741 weeks between 1973 and 1988, and was ranked at #43 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
