AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN. Program No. C804-1. Chart Date: 10/4/1980. Watermark Inc. (3) three stereo 12" LP record album set in box with original printed playlist sheets. Condition: Records grade close to NM. Box has some light discoloration of edges, no split seams. Comments: American Country Countdown, also known as ACC, is an internationally syndicated radio program which began by counting down the top 40 country songs of the previous week from No. 40 to No. 1, according to the Mediabase country chart. The show was originally hosted by comedian Don Bowman until 1978, when Bob Kingsley succeeded him as host. Kingsley continued hosting the show until 2006 when he was replaced by Kix Brooks, one half of the country music duo Brooks & Dunn. When ACC premiered in October 1973, the show aired on just 45 stations. Today, the show is heard on more than 1,000 radio stations in the United States and worldwide, and can be heard on the Armed Forces Radio Network.
