The world has finally caught up with Slowdive. When the Reading shoegazers split in 1995, many (including the band themselves) assumed they’d fade into obscurity, yet a revival in the genre coupled with the enduring power of their music has given the group a second wind.
Now, new generations as well as old followers are eagerly awaiting their first new album in 22 years - a release which should finally see Slowdive recognised among the finest and most influential British bands of the past three decades. The record is called Slowdive - self-titled in an echo of their debut EP from 1990 - and is remarkably direct, with singles Star Roving and Sugar For the Pill having already given listeners a tantalising taste of what lies in wait.
This limited edition LP format is pressed on silver vinyl, and is only available through independent retailers such as ourselves.
