In 2016 David Crosby surprised fans by touring with Michael League, bassist, composer and band leader of the band Snarky Puppy; jazz, pop, folk singer, guitarist Becca Stevens; and singer, songwriter, keyboardist, Michelle Willis. Together they reinvented David Crosby classic songs, and performed newly written songs, in a combination of voice and instrument that made skin tingle and minds expand. On December 7th, Record Store Day co-founder returned to his hometown of Wilmington, NC to witness David Crosby and the Lighthouse Band perform live in concert with Duane Ingram, the record store owner who gave Michael his first job at Schoolkids Records. After the concert David met with Michael and said that he thought what Record Store Day was doing was important and that he wanted to join The Record Store Day team. In this regard, David plans to do interviews with various media talking about this special Record Store Day release, the importance of supporting artists by buying albums on CD and vinyl, as well as the importance of supporting mom and pop record stores. The songs on this disc were performed live by the band for World Cafe on December 8th, and lovingly pressed on vinyl by Record Store Day just a few weeks later, making it the very first release created by Record Store Day itself.
